Blu Ray is better than regular DVD, if so why????

In some ways yes, in others not. Best: - high resolution - more wide color gamut (range) - superior audio formats - especially advanced features of Lower (?) - more expensive (the discs are typically $ 5 - $ 20 more expensive than the same movie on DVD) - requires good 1080p HDTV and surround sound system for the full benefit - can not be played on DVD players (ie, limited the ability to play back on laptops, cars, kitchen, kids room, cottage DVD) - can not (easily) disk backup - Limited number of films available (yet). - Still immature and expensive hardware ($ 350 +) Conclusion: For those who are willing to pay more (vs DVD) and the necessary equipment to enable benefits to be realized Blu-ray is a good option. However, many people will have limited benefit in relation with converted DVDs.
