Missing Hard

Missing hard drive space and additional primary SATA?
I'm wasting half the space on my hard disk C: drive and about a third of the internal SATA drive additional … and this is after formatting completely units. I do not know what kind of hidden data could occupy this space …. any suggestions?
Are you sure that you have 2 physical drives, not a physical drive split into two logical drives C: and D:? If your computer came with, say, a 160 GB drive and C: and D: are each about 80 GB, its 160GBs.
